So for april fools day, I figured I would review a comedy album. This is my first NSFW review, and I'm going to warn you, do not let small children hear this album, not because of adult content, but rather the immature sexual jokes, dope beats, and sick rhymes. This album is a comedy album, but not for the contemporary listener. Imagine, the lonely island but soaked in the most disgusting crevices of the internet flesh-bridge (4chan, r/ImGoingToHellForThis for starters).
Now for those of you who are not familiar with Filthy Frank, here is a little taste of what's to come:

And finally...
The most infamous...

That's right. Welcome to the rice fields motherfucker.
Hailing from the far west coast, Filthy Frank (real name unknown), or as he was known in his earlier days as youtuber Disastamuzik, is an Australian-Japanese comedy vlogger. Filthy Frank has been hailed as one of the most infamously NSFW youtube phenomenons out there, using shock comedy, political-incorrectness, and pure unadulterated randomness as his platform for internet domination. Frank has also been known for creating different characters for his video blog show, the most famous being Pink Guy, who made his debut in this video:

And from that point on Pink Guy, Frank, and the other... erm... colorful assortment of characters have had youtube held at gunpoint, pointing out the bullshit of society, the internet, and american culture. Frank himself comes off as someone considered mentally unstable to live in regular society, or as a ranting and raging misogynist, but in actually is just playing a character. In most of his videos that attack this persona, he usually makes fun of said people who can't tell that he's just playing a part.
Now that you have a background of the album itself, and the artist, let's take a look at Pink Guy's debut album PINK GUY.
PINK GUY is probably one of the funniest albums on the internet. And just like the randomness that is Filthy Frank, PINK GUY was released last May, unannounced as a free downloadable LP. It is 37 tracks long (each track lasts between 1-3 minutes, some even less than a minute), and is definitely a byproduct of the show. Songs range in content from sexual intercourse, to inside jokes from the show, and the occasional ukelele acoustic song (covers of Bitches Ain't Shit, and Fuck Tha Police). And although the raps can be VERY repetitive in content, the album's jokes can be fresh, but not for everybody, as some can be very offensive, or at times a bit too much, such as It's Okay To Eat Whales, or Kill Yourself.
The samples used on this album sound very good. The piano roll on Ramen King is very reminiscent of old west coast rap, and works as a great way to start the album. The drum loops are punchy, and the synth beats can be a bit shitty, and the ukelele numbers sound surprisingly clear and pretty. Whoever mixed this album, (most likely Chin Chin) really has their work cut out for them. And Filthy Frank's lyrics/raps are fucking hilarious, and are just as good as watching the actual show. Although he's just as offensive as he is (lots of racial slurs, misogyny, and disgusting toilet humor), he makes a point of making the album work as a whole parody of the shitty mixtapes some asshole may send you every once in a while. The album sounds like an idiot with nothing to say because it's supposed to, which in itself is brilliant.
Either that, or it's supposed to just be lyrically awful.
There are a few songs I have issues with, because even though Filthy Frank is about using bad taste to be funny, the songs that specifically are about suicide, are honestly a bit much. The lyrics are a bit overboard, and some people may feel a bit uncomfortable when listening to those songs.
Otherwise, I think it's a solid comedy rap LP, and a mixtape that's straight fire.
7.5/10
