Well guys. This is it. I think I may be reviewing a band just as enjoyably poppy as Ninja Sex Party. In fact, if Con Bro Chill was on tour with either Starbomb or Ninja Sex Party opening for them, I would buy tickets in a heart beat. And so should you. Because this portland based party pop band is probably one of the most interesting pop bands to ever release an album. Especially because this album came out in 2013, which surprises me that I heard nothing about them. In fact they should probably have been all over the radio, but again, surprisingly they weren't.

The album cover says it all: these guys came to party! Each track on this album is like a little disco in my headphones, and my ear drums are definitely invited. The lyrics are catchy and quirky as hell, and these guys definitely have a sense of humor. Such things include "mothers approving of you partying with them," to "getting baptized in the dance water."

Good stuff guys. Real good stuff!

Not to mention something else very odd on this pop record...THERE'S MORE THAN JUST BASS ON SOME SONGS?!?!?!

"Jean Claude Van Damn!" (anther great opening lyric from the the title track).

Yes this album includes more than just dubsteppy-house music bass synth in the background. There's some pretty nice acoustic and clean electric guitar, and some cool lead pad stuff thrown into the mix. Honestly it's very surprising, and totally welcoming, because the years 2012-2013 were definitely the year of the dubstep DJ. Everyone was using some sort of wobble bass, and even though Con Bro Chill uses it at times, it's very dispersed through out each track, used more as a tool instead of a gimmick. Bravo guys! Bravo! The only track it's really ever apparent on is Partied Out, and even then, it's quite the treat.

All in all, We Came To Party is a top notch album, and I recommend it for some of my more casual readers.

I give it 9 parties/10.
